Digital Art

Computer technology has developed to the point where virtually anything can be produced and appear as a photographic image. The line between true phorography and digitally created images has been blurred and some say entirely eliminated. However, much of digital enhancement is nothing more than the same type of enhancement that one normally does in the darkroom when burning and dodging a photo to produce the best print possible.

Most of the images on this site are of this latter type of digital enhancement. Some are not. The images that are extensively digitally enhanced, beyond what are considered normal darkroom printing techniques, are identified as such. The letters DA will appear at the end of the image name to identify it as a digital art image. These images are found in Gallery 7 and are special art images that depart from the other gallery images in technique.
